The skirt is unlined and closes at the side with a zipper and large flat hook and eye at the waist

Halston did do swimwear collections for his clients and this was a dress that was a part of that same line as it is made from a jersey that is much like a swimsuit fabric

This allows the sleeves to be wide and have a kimono feel to them and the front drop over the skirt like an apron
